Electric vehicles, rockets… and now brain-computer interfaces. Elon Musk’s newest venture, Neuralink, aims to bridge the gap between humans and artificial intelligence by implanting tiny chips that can link up to the brain. At a press conference on July 16, Neuralink’s ambitious plans were detailed for the first time, showcasing a future (a very distant future!) technology that could help people deal with brain or spinal cord injuries or controlling 3D digital avatars. Neuralink

Neuralink Corporation is a American neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk and many others, creating implantable brain–system ports (BMIs). The corporation’s headquarters are in San Francisco; it had been launched in 2016 and has been publicly documented in March 2017.

Since its founding, the company has hired several high-profile neuroscientists from several universities. By July 2019, it had received $158 million in financing (roughly $100 million from Musk) and was employing a staff of 90 workers. At that time, Neuralink announced it was working on a”sewing machine-like” device capable of implanting very thin threads to the mind, demonstrated a method that read information from a laboratory rat through 1500 electrodes (believed to be 15 times greater than the present maximum for systems used in human minds ), also anticipated to begin experiments with people in 2020.

Elon Musk

South African entrepreneur Elon Musk is well popularly known for founding Tesla Motors and SpaceX, which started a landmark industrial spacecraft in 2012.

Elon Reeve Musk is a South American African-born American entrepreneur and businessman who based X.com in 1999 (that later became PayPal), SpaceX at 2002 along with Tesla Motors in 2003. Musk turned into a multimillionaire in his late 20s when he sold his startup company, Zip2, to some division of Compaq Computers.

When a rocket that would send the very first car to the International Space Station was launched by SpaceX musk created headlines in May 2012. He augmented his portfolio with the purchase of SolarCity at 2016, and his reputation as a pioneer of industry by taking on an advisory function in the first days of President Donald Trump’s administration.
